Websites and more websites!

Hello friends!

It's been a while a long while since I last posted here and I apologize for the prolonged absence.  Much has happened since the previous post and I'm pleased to share some happy announcements with all of you!

First of all, I graduated from Soka University of America in May. Having graduated, I relocated to New York, and have now settled in a cozy apartment in Manhattan. c: Hopefully this metropolis of inspiration will stimulate my creativity in new ways!

Meanwhile, I've been working hard on establishing my online presence as a freelancer! My new website is up so please do check that out!

Also, I've branched out to other social media and networking sites! Flomino now has a Facebook page of its own so you'll be able to find my artwork, latest updates, and other information by liking this page here:
And if anyone is interested, I've got a profile set up on LinkedIn as well so let's connect professionally, too!

Finally, as before, my Tumblr is still keeping busy, and if you're interested in taking a peak at my progress drawings, you'll definitely be seeing them here:
That's enough for now. You'll be hearing much more from me, I promise! I've got some exciting commissions that I've just completed and I'm opening up to some new requests this month so stay tuned!

New Blog Design!

Hey all!

So I gave my blog a new face today. It was a day of trial and error and I've finally created something I'm happy with. :)

In other news, I've been working on commissions every day this week, which is causing me to be a total shut-in. It's the rainy season in Tokyo so I'm not too enticed to go outdoors anyway, but that and an impending visit from Aunt Flow is causing me to feel cranky. I actually consumed two ice creams and a whole serloin steak yesterday. D8

Well at least the Draco/Harry commission is done! I've been working on this since November!! Sheesh, that took loooong enough.

Also, some exciting news for me is that my work has been featured at SomethingWeLike.com

I had an interview with them earlier last week (which was really something--it was actually a bit overwhelming to be placed beside real professional artists). Thank you to Peter Halim for this awesome opportunity!

That's about it for now. I need to get back to commission catch-ups!

Graduation, FML, Howl and Summer Finn paper doll

Oh my goodness an update is long overdue!

May was crazy, as Mays usually are at Soka. This year's finals seemed to be prolonged for an additional week--my last paper was due 4 days before the graduation ceremony! And I was an emotional wreck during graduation--that's another story all together. It was incredible watching my peers in 2011 walk the brand new, waxy floor of the Performing Arts Center in their gowns and blue sashes and from the seats I felt like I was walking beside them, too. But I've overcome my bitterness about not graduating this year--as a matter of fact, I'm quite excited and honored that I get to stay at Soka for one more year. I'm able to take all these courses that I otherwise would never have had time for. And guess who's learning cello next semester, too!! :D So I see my status as a "supersenior" a privilege. And hell, I am in no way ready to be stepping out in to the workforce.

So that's that and I'm at home in Japan now, with my darling family and my getting-kinda-senile-there cat. I've got this month in Tokyo to prepare for my big trip to Europe in July. I'm just in the process of finishing up commissions

Oh, also! I was recently asked to illustrate for fmylife.com! I was so thrilled so I jumped on the opportunity to illustrate my favorite FML:
Today my friends took my phone and changed all the contact's names to characters from Harry Potter. I have over a hundred contacts and no idea who I'm talking to. I've been texting Draco Malfoy for 4 hours now. FML
Here's what I came up with:

So that was a ton of fun. And I was so amazed to find out that this got over 40,000 hits in two days. Thank you everyone at DeviantArt and Tumblr!! :D

And here are some more Howl fan arts I've done over the past two weeks:

「消えて行くハウル」("Vanishing Howl")

The Water Ring

Also, I finally finished a second paper doll. After posting the first one of Tom Hansen (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) from 500 Days of Summer, I got a great number of replies on Tumblr asking for a Summer version. So here it is! A Summer Finn (Zooey Deschanel) paper doll!

Finally here's some Potter Crack I drew as a post script in a letter I wrote to a friend.

That's about it for now! Sorry this post was so image heavy! Good day!
